9th ward: Upper and Lower
The 9th ward of New Orleans is the city's largest of 17 wards within the ward you will find and upper and lower level. The lower ward has got alot of attention for the tragic storms that took place by Hurricane Katrina, and then again by Hurricane Rita and destoryed alot of the town. Before the storms it was filled with small businesses, barber and beauty shops, and public schools. The residesnt who live in this area still have a lower income or poverty level houses but they try and care for the propertys to make them nicer again. Buildings in the 9th ward have smaller houses which are not nearly as nice as the houses in the other areas of New Orleans. The Lower Ninth has become a dumping ground for unwanted dogs and cats. However a well known area in The Lower Ninth ward is The Jacksons Barracks which serves as the headquarters of the Louisana national gaurd.
The Upper Ninth: The upper ward is known for Musicians Village which consists of 81 habitat constructed homes for displaced New Orleans musicians. which started after Hurricane Katrina in 2006.
